The short version

Fotography.gg exists to celebrate the best photography coming out of Forza Horizon's photo mode. Post your own shots, be honest about your edits, credit the people you work with, and treat other photographers with respect. That's most of it. The details follow.

1. Forza Horizon photo-mode content only

This is a Forza Horizon photography archive. Everything you publish must be a capture from a Forza Horizon game's photo mode.

  • Screenshots from other games, real-world photos, and AI-generated images don't belong here and will be removed.
  • Edit honesty is required. Light external editing (color grading, cropping, sharpening) is welcome — but if a shot has been edited outside the game, it must be marked "Externally edited" in the edit-disclosure field. Passing a heavily edited shot off as pure photo mode is a violation.

2. Post your own work

  • Only upload captures you took. Posting another photographer's work as your own is the most serious violation on this platform and can result in immediate termination.
  • Shot a collab? Tagged someone's livery, tune, or convoy? Credit them — the livery-credit field exists for exactly this.
  • If your work has been reposted without permission, report the photo or file a request on our Takedown Policy page.

3. Be respectful

  • No harassment, bullying, hate speech, slurs, or personal attacks — in comments, photo titles, captions, profiles, or anywhere else on the Site.
  • Critique the photo, not the person. Constructive feedback is encouraged; dogpiling and mockery are not.
  • Don't share anyone's personal information.

4. Keep it clean

  • No NSFW content. No sexually explicit imagery, gore, or shock content — including in liveries featured in your shots, avatars, and banners.
  • No spam. Don't flood uploads with near-identical shots, post irrelevant links, or use comments for advertising.
  • No engagement manipulation. Vote rings, bot likes, fake accounts, follow-for-follow schemes, and coordinated challenge voting all undermine the community and are bannable. Win on the merit of your shots.

5. Consequences ladder

Moderation generally follows this escalation, though severe violations (stolen work, hate speech, NSFW, illegal content) can skip straight to the end:

  1. Content removal — the violating photo or comment is taken down, usually with a note explaining why.
  2. Warning — a formal notice on your account. Multiple warnings escalate.
  3. Upload suspension — your ability to publish new content is temporarily revoked.
  4. Account termination — your account is permanently closed. Ban evasion via new accounts results in immediate termination of those accounts too.

Verified Fotographer status can be revoked at any step for verified members who violate these guidelines.

6. Reporting content — and what happens next

See something that breaks these rules?

  • Use the Report button on any photo (in the action bar on the photo page) or report a comment directly.
  • Choose the reason that fits best — including "Stolen / reposted work" and "Not Forza Horizon content" — and add any helpful details.
  • For copyright claims on your own work, you can also use the formal process on the Takedown Policy page.

After you report: the report goes into the curator moderation queue. A curator reviews it, looks at the content and any evidence, and either actions it (removal and/or account consequences) or dismisses it. Reports are confidential — the reported user is not told who reported them. Please don't abuse the report system; bad-faith mass reporting is itself a violation.

7. Final note

These guidelines exist to keep Fotography.gg the kind of place where great virtual photography gets the audience it deserves. Curators have final discretion in interpreting them. If you think a moderation decision was wrong, you may appeal by replying to the notification you received or via the contact form on the Takedown Policy page.
